stop blogging and play with me!

what you’ll find here -advice from the experts for busy bloggers

There’s so much “expert advice about blogging” on line that it makes my head swim.  Where should I begin? Picking up one thread only leads to another more interesting one. I start off in one direction and end up going in two different ones.  I waste time. I confuse myself. Sometimes, it works out well.  Most often, I start reading people’s blog posts and leaving comments and neglect doing what I originally set out to do.

Blogging Tips from Expert Bloggers: WordCamp

by Cheryl Ragsdale

WordCamp Boston welcome signI had the opportunity to attend my first WordCamp hosted by WordCampBoston.com. WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordPress is the platform many bloggers (like me) use to host our blogs.

WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps are open to WordPress.com and WordPress.org users alike.

Somehow, I managed to miss receiving notification of the Boston event. For that reason, when I visited the website, all the tickets were sold out!

Luckily, I noticed an opportunity to volunteer.

I built this page to create another place to help promote WordCamps.

The first WordCamp was held in San Francisco, California on August 5, 2006. They are now held all over the world! Check the schedule to see when WordCamp is coming to a location near you.

WordCamp organizers share video of presentations on their site. For details on the Boston event, please visit WordCampBoston.com

I’ve just started blogging (having converted my existing static site to WordPress), and I’ve been following your advice very closely. As a professional copywriter of over 10 years’ experience, I admire your model of providing high quality content as the basis of everything you do, and will try to emulate this approach on my blog.

I like the idea of looking at your categories and blogging the most about that – it’s good inspiration. I have been torn between the direction of what my newest site should be focused on and after reading this and a little steve palina yesterday, i think personal is how i want to go next.
