Adventures in living a healthy, juicy life
by Cheryl Ragsdale
This week, I co-hosted MarQ’s Wombat Sport’s WMMA fighter interview with Avery Vilche, a female MMA fighter who describes herself as “freakishly strong” and says she presses almost 1000lbs.
After spending half an hour listening to how she thinks, I’d say she’s mentally tough as well.
MarQ and I asked Avery what motivates her to keep training and fighting in the face of one loss followed by another in our interview with her on June 15, 2011.
“I didn’t feel like I lost any of them personally. I’m confident in how I perform…judging is subjective.”
Avery Vilche, Professional Women’s MMA Fighter (2-5-1-1) Win-Loss-Draw-NC fights at 125lbs.
Her No-Contest fight was against Michelle Ould, June 7, 2009, at Rumble in Wyoming. In their rematch, Avery lost via unanimous decision to Michelle Ould (4-3-0-1) on June 27, 2009.

Avery Vilche Next Fight Scheduled for June 17, 2010
Fresh off her unanimous decision win against Sarah Maloy (2-1-0-0) on April 9, 2011, Avery is scheduled to fight June 17th against Kelly Warren (3-0-0-0) at BlackEye Promotions 4 in Fletcher, NC on Friday, June 17, 2011.
During the interview, Avery said that she is dropping to 115lbs because she’s 5’2″ tall. She said she thinks she’ll do better fighting against girls who are more her size.
Here’s a look at Avery’s tough match against Lacey Schuckman (6-3-0-0)
