A gift that was squandered is now treasured and shared again. Sometimes, the person you have to stand up for is yourself.

It helps to have support from other people too.

Someone shot video of Ted Williams demonstrating his radio announcer voice.  Then they uploaded it so they could share it online. Then they promoted it. Then loads of people got interested.

Suddenly, job offers started pouring in and Ted is cleaned up and being interviewed on local news shows.

Absolutely flipping fantastic!

As far as standing up for himself, Ted continued to use his talents – even though he’s been sleeping rough and entertaining sympathetic motorists who gave money in support of Ted to help him survive on the streets.

Now, what’s needed is for Ted to accept all of the help, love and support coming this way.

Standing up for himself, in this case, would mean allowing himself to step back into the normal routine of work, home and back again tomorrow – without relying on drugs or alcohol for dismal support.

Very heart-warming story to kick off the new year.

Let’s hope that this is a sign of things to come for a prosperous, rebounding economy.

Consider examining your life, based on what we’ve seen happen to Ted, looking for the places where you’ve sold out on your dreams, your plans or your goals.

When I get myself into “two different mind-sets”, I get stuck.

What do you do to get in your own way to ensure that you won’t succeed?

Where are you stuck?

Speaking for myself, I’m perfectly capable of thwarting my own plans in the most imaginative ways. It’s like I have two different “Cheryls” in my brain. One moving forward and the other digging in her heels.

When I get myself into “two different mind-sets”, I get stuck.

Nothing happens until I surrender and move forward or surrender and forget about it.

What are you willing to take a stand for?

Just like Ted, you’re not alone either.

Allow people to support and provide all the help you need. We all like to give help that we know will make a really big difference – especially when someone is working on an important goal.

This is a fantastic story and Ted has a fabulous voice. Ted’s first national cable TV appearance was on “Countdown” with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. The next day he had some really big job offers, including the one from MSNBC to voice-over on their “Lean Forward” promotion. He was interviewed Thursday last week on “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell, and his MSNBC voice-overs started airing that same night.

I saw this on the Today show. He introduced the show. What an incredible voice. His story touched my heart so I almost cried. It is amazing how you can walk down the right path or the wrong path and it alters the rest of your life.

I am so happy that now he has been discovered and I am sure his life will change.
