One of the coolest things that happened this past weekend at UFC 118 was the opportunity to meet people I’ve met on twitter.
Yes, it really is possible to get to know people when only using 140 characters per message.
This does cause me some problems in the “real world” as I’m getting impatient with people who take “too long” to get to the point in regular conversation.
Anyway, that’s another story.
When I first started using twitter, what I found especially intriguing was the opportunity to find people who enjoyed talking about things that I like talking about too. In my real world circle of friends, only the people I practice martial arts with enjoy talking about mixed martial arts fights as much as I do.
I value being able to hit #UFC and send my babble into the twitter stream.
Sometimes people listen and sometimes they don’t – the same way it happens in conversations with people standing right in front of me.
My only regret is that I didn’t connect with AnneLorie from FightClique. Look for her facebook fan page for women who love to talk about mixed martial arts.

Nice to see you again! With Strikeforce in Miami, Dana White will most assuredly want to rub someone’s nose in it by bringing the UFC to Tampa..some day.
