Even with privacy issues making headlines, facebook is still the best place on the planet to find the funniest pages created by people just like you and me.  Here’s my latest gleaned from lists either provided to me by people I know or by people who responded to questions on line about which fan pages they read and consider the funniest.

What follows are this week’s favorite funny fan pages plus whatever else I felt like adding in.

To me, the best funniest fan pages are the ones that mention circumstances that we all find ourselves in or can relate to.

facebook under fire for privacy issues

Facebook has come under fire in recent weeks with privacy issues galore. When I first considered allowing a third party like twitter, for instance, to access my facebook account, I realized that my privacy wall was weakening. I cleaned out whatever I didn’t want people to see. No surprise really. It is a free service, after all. Here’s a round-up of some recent news “Not So Funny” news about facebook…

• funnygirl presents Contrite Facebook CEO promises new privacy controls – Yahoo! News posted at yahoo, saying, “Buffeted by privacy snafus and the lingering fallout from a damning, years-old instant messaging thread, Facebook chief exec Mark Zuckerberg switched into full-on damage control Monday, confessing that the sprawling social network had “missed the mark” when it comes to its complex privacy controls — and pledging to do better.”
• funnygirl presents What’s up with this new Like button on articles? posted at The official blog of Helium.com, saying, “Basically, if you read an article you like and click the “Like” button the article will automatically post on your wall for all of your friends to see. If you’re not logged into Facebook already a window will open to prompt you to log on. Your friends are then free to read the article, comment and “Like” the article themselves. This is an incredible way to gain viral traffic for articles, increase earnings, spread the word about Helium and increase views of your profile. We’ve grabbed an article from today’s homepage on Helium and circled where you can find the “Like” button.”
• funnygirl presents how-to-secure-your-facebook-account: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance posted at yahoo, saying, “Parry Aftab, the executive director for Wired Safety, a consumer resource that focuses on online security and privacy, says she has a simple test for gauging which information is Facebook-safe. “Would you put it on a sign in front of your house?” she says. “That’s got to be your measure.” (Wired Safety is one of five groups that sit on Facebook’s unpaid safety advisory board.)”
