Hi there,
Just made my first SITS visit and your comment was right before mine – what a stroke of luck!
Terrific blog, and this is a great post. Although I’m confident in so many other aspects of my life, right now I am equating my self-worth with how many comments I’m receiving! The irony is that I used to be a big-time lurker before I realized that bloggers truly do care about comments!
Thanks – I’ll be back!

I agree completely with the commenting strategy, and I also love what Yaro teaches, but the one part I find hard early on (which is now) is not having that social group of blog support. I guess that’s what blog commenting is about in the first place- building relationships and hoping for returning comments, but your post has given me interesting insight and now perhaps I shall go search for these secret groups of bloggers you talk about. I would ask to join your secret group- and although I’m told I cry like a girl, I don’t see this as being enough to fit the criteria.
Thanks again Cheryl.

Hey Alex,
As you say, you have to search for a group that’s already formed or start one yourself. Julius who often comments on TGIF might have an interest in joining in with you. You can find him through the Top Commentator “People We Love” list at the very bottom of this page or try http://www.evengrounds.com
You say that you cry like a girl? Well, I fight like a boy. Does that mean we’re a good match?
I’m sure he’d be interested in banding together with you. He’s number one on my favorite commenter list – you should be showing up on my list soon, I think

I think another benefit of commenting is the good relationship you’d eventually get from other bloggers. These kind people can even help you identify aspects in your site which you can improve to attract more visitors.

Hi Julius,
I completely agree with you. Bloggers are very friendly people and most are happy to help whenever I’ve asked a question
Thanks for posting the blogging tips. You are right…I need to have a commenting plan. It is time for me to get in the loop!
