This is the first time I’m sharing the original “Official KenFlo Trivia Game” questions, answers and game flow conversation that went along during the 25 days that we played the game.  Here’s how it all began back in the summer of 2009…

Official KenFlo Trivia Game Questions with Answers for UFC 101

An opportunity arose when I noticed there were only 25 days until Kenny Florian’s Title fight against the current Lightweight UFC Mixed Martial Arts Champion, BJ Penn.

“It’s like waiting for Christmas,” I thought to myself. “What shall I do to pass the time?”

Here’s what I did:  I created the Official KenFlo Trivia Game. One question a day posted on facebook and also on twitter.  Twitter made the game more interesting because of the size constraint imposed on tweets. Because messages can be no longer than 140 characters, a degree of difficulty was added to make the game more interesting.

What follows are the questions and the answers provided by the fellas of FloMAC (Florian Martial Arts Center) and one or two others who joined in.

Every question appeared on my facebook page or my twitter profile page.

Every answer comes from tweeted responses or facebook friends.

25 days to UFC 101! It’s like waiting for Christmas. What shall we do? How about a KenFlo trivia game? We need a good question to start.

Kelly:  only question I can think of is asking both fighters “How do you spell ‘B.J.’ ” after their fight to test for brain damage. I wish KenFlo the best of luck… he’s a great, great fighter with mind blowing technical skill. Penn has been great and can be great so I’m very curious to see how it pans out, but I believe Kenny will pull it off!!

Cheryl:   I think I may have stumped you on this one. But only because none of you guys have trained with Sexyama aka Tateki. Felix says two of the above. I’ve heard Sollis pop out an occasional “tap or snap”.  Finally, a question that Hans might get wrong. Speaking of Hans, where are you bro?

Hans Nguyen:  It’s def not a) cause there’s no ego in training…so I’m going to say e) let’s roll/ flo

Hans:  Also it’s not b cause no one says that…not c cause there’s only been two naga

Cheryl:  I just realized that I misled you with the BJJ reference. Sexyama says “I go – you go” in Muay Thai when he’s setting up how he wants us to do the drills. Take out the BJJ and the question works.  So, based on how the question is written, answer A and answer C are correct with a bow to Hans because you’re right, as usual, there’s no ego in training. But it is fun to say it when you’re armbarring someone. Well, I like saying it. LOL!

Hans: Who’s sexyama?

Cheryl:  Tateki. He trains us in Muay Thai. You’re not even in MA, son, how are you gonna know who Tateki is? OK, I gotta hook you up and make sure my questions don’t include anything you’re missing because I want you to stay in first place.  At UFC 100, there was a fighter nick-named Sexyama and Keith started calling Tateki (he’s awesome in Muay Thai) Sexyama. I don’t know if T liked it, but I thought it was cute.

Hans:  Ru sure it was tateki cause akiyama is sexyama…

Cheryl:  Hey! Akiyama doesn’t teach muay thai at flomac. Akiyama is the real Sexyama. Tateki is our flomac Sexyama. LMAO!

Cheryl:  I missed the let’s roll / flo. Flo like Flo-rian’s? Does flo mean something else? LOL!

Hans:  Flo is when ur trying to work on ur attacks/controls when ur on the ground. Can’t be in the same position for more than 30sec

Cheryl:  I gotta practice saying that so it sounds like I know what I’m talking about. Let’s roll flo. LOL!! Yeah, ok, I got some work to do on that one.

Hans:  It’s either let’s roll or let’s flo…lol

Cheryl:  oh good, cause it sounded really stupid when I said it out loud. OMG, you crack me up. I’m signing off. Now that we have that all straightened out.  Good night, JohnBoy.

The Official KenFlo Trivia Game “Big & Beefy” Most Manly Calves Contest began. David is currently in 1^st place sporting 19” calves – that’s one inch smaller than my thigh!
