Just to reinforce what you said about the coke Cheryl. I’ve noticed when you start working out your body craves the things it needs. Just by listening to your body you give up the junk and start eating healthy.
Cheryl,
I had a hard drive crash and lost my copy of your ebook.

hahha! Sorry about answering two different people. The Midlife Gals are two people operating as one – they are hilarious. Hopefully, we’ll see a guest post from them soon and you’ll see what I mean. Getting back to your list, pick something that will please you not something you think you have to do. When I gave up Diet Coke, it happened because I was ready – I don’t even remember why. Yes, I do. I started training more. Suddenly, coke couldn’t handle my thirst. I switched to seltzer with juice. You can’t give up one thing without having something equally satisfying to replace it. If you’re not ready to Just Say No to Coca-Cola, pick something else to do. Revisit the coke question later. What do you think?

Ha ha. I had to reread the reply because I thought you were calling me midlife. Am I midlife at 33? Maybe. Then I understood you meant a different commenter.
Anyway, notice I kept saying “trying” throughout my comment. Trying and actually doing something successfully every day are two different things. I try. It doesn’t always happen, but I try.

Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.

Ooh,Staci is showing the MidLife Gals how it’s done. Staci, thank you for being open and stepping into this game boldly. I’m looking forward to how life changes for you as you really push into changing one or two habits that don’t work for you. Stay connected! We want to hear about your progress! Hmm, wonder what those Midlife Gals are doing. Probably having a martini.

Bad habits I’m trying to conquer:
1. Not applying sunscreen everywhere everyday. I always apply it to my face, but sometimes I forget the body. I bought a body lotion from Eucerin that has sunscreen to try to get myself to remember. I also keep it out on the cabinet where I’ll always see it.
2. Forgetting to take a multivitamin, omega fatty acids, calcium, & Vitamin D tablet daily. I’m good about buying supplements. I’m not always that great at remembering to take them. I’ve been making a concerted effort lately, thanks to swine flu season, to make sure I do take them daily. I figure my immune system can use as much help as it can get.
3. My Coca Cola habit. I’m trying (some days trying more than others) to cut back on Coke and increase my water intake. It’s a slow-going process, especially considering Coke is pretty much my only source of caffeine, but I am trying.
4. Not exercising enough. I’m trying to do more and mix it up so I don’t get bored. Some days I do the treadmill, other days DVDs. I still haven’t gotten to where I was in college where I exercised 4 or 5 times a week, but at this point 1 or 2 times a week is better than 1 or 2 times a month.

So, how do we get the stuff and still live a decadent, unhealthy yet frightfully happy life style? Guess that’s out, huh?
