by Cheryl Ragsdale
Meet a group of 48 skydivers who are living life juicy. To join this group, you have to be over the age of 60. Their mission was to break a world record for group sky-diving. The video below shows exactly how they did it. Following the video, we go through the 5 Steps for adding a juicy, new activity to your life. No, it doesn’t have to be as extreme as skydiving. Who knows, this video might help you stretch your imagination.

Russ Manhold, 2009 “Skydivers over Sixty” Event Coordinator: “Some would ask, ‘Is there life after 60?’ Our group of Skydivers Over Sixty (SOS) have proved skydiving is a sport for young and old alike. Septaugenarian skydivers belong to JOS (Jumpers Over Seventy) and Octogenarians are members of JOES (Jumpers Over Eighty Society). A few SOS members have been jumping since WW II. Most SOS members have thousands of sport parachute jumps and over 40 years of experience.”
Want to Juice Up Your Life?
What does a juicy life feel like to you? It’s different for everyone. Comparing what juices you to what juices someone else makes no sense. We’re all designed differently. Each of us enjoys – whatever it is we enjoy – simply because we do.
For instance, it’s unlikely that I will ever try skydiving because I get dizzy just watching them do it. I wouldn’t enjoy it. I’m not bungee jumping either.

Add a Juicy New Activity to Your Life in 5 Steps Yes, you do have time. You can mull over your lists while you’re making dinner or folding clothes or waiting for something or driving your car. No excuses!

An Example
When time was limited, due to a heavy travel and work schedule, I looked for something interesting to help me relax. At a foreign film festival, I discovered a Japanese film director named Akira Kurosawa. I fell in love with his movies. He made beautiful black and white films featuring Samurai warriors in stories that were later remade as American westerns. Seven Samurai, one of my favorites, was remade as The Magnificent Seven. Edward G. Robinson and Paul Newman starred in the American version of Rashomon – renamed The Outrage.
I could talk for hours about those movies. I found time to watch them. I looked forward to it! I watched them with my boyfriend. Turns out, he loved them as much as I did. If I hadn’t followed my passion, he would never have heard of Akira Kurosawa. I thought I’d seen every film he’d ever made, but just this week, I watched one I hadn’t seen before.
I offer this as an example of making something work with an unforgiving schedule. I either bought the movies or rented them through Netflix. Life got juicy when I lost myself in Akira’s stories. Two hours of juicy was better than nothing. This was a perfect solution for me. What new activity will you take on to juice up your life? Something extreme like skydiving? Whatever you chose, be sure it’s something you really enjoy.

Hi Gerri,
Ouch! That’s a drag having to sit out for 6 months! Take good care of yourself. You’ll have to think of something you can do that’s fun and interesting while you’re recuperating. Time will fly by!
Stay connected! We have some good “boy humor” from guest contributor, Josh, coming up on Friday!

There are so many new things that I want to try out at the moment but I am going to have to wait a bit of a while. I ruptured my Achilles tendon three weeks ago and that put me out of a lot of fun stuff for at least 6 months. Oh well, the time will come again when I can be adventurous.
